IntelliTimer™ Tour

This tour shows you how easy it is to use your Palm handheld or compatible to time any event -- anywhere.


Stopwatch Screen.

1. Start IntelliTimer

Launch IntelliTimer on your Palm device by tapping on Applications and then IntelliTimer.

Note: If you have already timed events you can view them by tapping on the Time Log button.


Start timing.

2. Start Timing

Start timing an event by tapping on the Start button. Notice that IntelliTimer is accurate to 1/100th of a second.

Tip: You can also use the Palm's center hardware UP button (at the bottom of the Palm device) for Start and Stop. The center hardward DOWN button can be used for Split and Reset.

Three timers are available, the main timer at the top and two auxiliary timers at the bottom.

To start all three timers at the same time press the Start All button.


Record Splits.

3. Record Splits and Stop Timing

Record splits by tapping on the Split button. Up to 50 splits may be recorded for each timed event. Notice that once a split has been recorded the split timer is displayed to the left of the overall time. This is the running total for current split.

Finish timing by tapping on the Stop button, if splits have been recorded a final split will be added.

Fining timing with the auxiliary timers by tapping on the Stp buttons at the bottom of the screen.

4. Clear Times

To stop timers and reset times to zero without saving the time tap on the Clear or Clear All buttons.

Note: To use the clear buttons without the confirmation question each time tap on the Menu button and then Preferences and check the Do not confirm clears option.

5. Edit Split Descriptions

IntelliTimer will provide default split descriptions. To change any of the split descriptions tap on the description and then the Edit Split Description button.

6. Reset and Save Time

Tap on the Reset button to save the time into the Time Log and then reset the timer to zero. The number of timing events that can be stored in the Time Log is limited only by the amount of free memory on the Palm device.

If the Save time without asking box is checked then tapping on the Reset button will save the time, using default Group and description values, into the Time Log automatically.

Tapping on the Group name location from the Save this time? screen (above) will bring up this screen. From the Groups screen you can select, create, or edit group names.

Fill in a description of the timed event and press the Yes button to save the timed event into the Time Log.

7. Time Log

Tap on the Time Log button to bring up this screen. All saved times can be viewed, edited, deleted, and beamed to other Palm devices.

To change which saved time is displayed tap on the Group or Desc dropdown lists and select the desired time.

Note: Scott's mile splits were 6.31.58 and 6.28.93. His elapsed time at the 2 mile mark was 13.00.51.

Tapping on the Edit button (from the above screen) brings up this Edit screen.

Tapping on the time value from the Edit screen (above) brings up the Edit Time screen. This allows you to change the value of the saved time.

Record Splits.

8. Pace/Speed Calculator

Tap on the Calc button from the Time Log screen to bring up the Pace/Speed Calculator. Tap on the time and miles values to edit those values. Units can be switched between miles and kilometers and Miles Per Hour (MPH) and Kilometers Per Hour (KPH)

9. Finish Mode

IntelliTimer features two modes of timing, Splits and Finishes. To change between the two modes tap on the Menu button from the Stopwatch screen and select Preferences....

Tapping on the Fnsh button will record the finish time and the difference between the finish time and the 1st place time. Up to 50 finish times may be recorded.

After recording the 1st place finisher's time that time is displayed in the upper left hand corner. The current running time of the event is displayed in the center of the display in large text.

Finish mode timed events are displayed in the Time Log with the 1st place time as the the main time.

Note: Scott finished 3rd in this Cross Country meet, 10.51 seconds off the pace of the first place runner.


Beaming

10. Beaming

IntelliTimer features the ability to beam a Time or Group of Times another IntelliTimer enabled Palm device.

From the Time Log screen tap on the Menu button and then select one of the beaming options.

Simply point your Palm device at another IntelliTimer enabled Palm device and the selected information will be beamed to the target device.

As the Time or Group of Times are beamed to the Palm device they are put into the "Beamed" group.

The "Beamed" group can be merged into another group by tapping on the Menu button from the Time Log screen and selecting "Merge".

11. Beam Trial Version of IntelliTimer to a Friend

From the stopwatch screen tap on the Menu button and then tap on Beam IntelliTimer to beam a trial version of IntelliTimer software to a friend's Palm device. This will allow your friend to use IntelliTimer for 7 days or 100 timed events.

12. PC Desktop Companion

IntelliTimer features a free PC desktop companion which allows you to view, print, save as a web page, and save as a CSV file your IntelliTimer data collected on your Palm computer.
